The Department of Cardiology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia celebrates 34^th anniversary by a social activity with the theme “Cardiology Gives Back”. This event took place in Gunung Sari village, district Pamijahan, Mount Salak, Bogor, West Java on 11-12 December 2010. Supported by dozens of cardiovascular specialist doctors as a part of the implementation of the “Tri Dharma of University”.

PT. Fondaco Mitratama was given the privilege to participate in this activity and it is in conjunction with our CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) program and aligned with our motto “Helping you to  save more lives”. We provided equipments to support this event, such as GE’s portable ECG MAC 400, Portable Echo System Vivid i, and GE’s latest handheld visualization tool called VSCAN.

The local community were very enthusiastic with this event, as shown by the large number of patients arrived at the examination site. The team of cardiologists provided free medical services for approximately 300 people from 7 district neighborhoods which includes: blood pressure check, cardiac examination using echocardiography, blood samples and medications to the villagers.

In addition to the examination and treatment activities, the team or cardiologists also held an education seminar for the local doctors and villagers, so people pay more attention to their lifestyle that will improve their health.

The Department of Cardiology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia also donates two units ECG portable machine (MAC 400) and also a weight scale to the local Community Health Center.
